Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using mrtdoku.com (“the Site”), which is operated as a personal hobby project by an individual maintainer (“the Operator”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MRTdoku. By using the Site you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. The Site is not directed at children under 13 (see the privacy policy).

3. The service

MRTdoku is a daily 3×3 grid puzzle in which each cell must be filled with a station from the Singapore MRT/LRT network that satisfies both its row and column criterion. A new puzzle is published each day at 00:00 Singapore Time. The Site is offered free of charge as an educational fan project.

We make no commitment that any specific puzzle, dataset, or feature will remain available. Puzzles, criteria, and the underlying station dataset may be revised, replaced, or removed at any time.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mirror, or systematically download the Site or its puzzle JSONs, except that a small reasonable number of requests for personal use is permitted.
• Submit answers programmatically, automate game sessions, or otherwise simulate solver behaviour at scale.
• Manipulate rarity scoring through multiple sessions, multiple accounts (where accounts exist), or any other coordinated duplication of submissions.
• Reverse-engineer security, rate-limiting, or anti-abuse mechanisms; probe for vulnerabilities; or interfere with other users' access.
• Use the Site in any way that violates Singapore law, the laws of Singapore, or any other law that applies to you.

5. Intellectual property

The Site's code, visual design, copy, criterion definitions, and daily puzzle compositions are the property of the Operator or their licensors.

Singapore MRT/LRT station data — codes, names, line memberships, and coordinates — is sourced from LTA DataMall under the Singapore Open Data Licence v1.0. Cross-referenced station etymology and historical opening dates are derived from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0) and Wikidata (CC0). The full attribution lives on the credits page.

“MRT”, MRT/LRT line names, and the LTA line color palette are managed by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore and the operating concessionaires (SMRT Trains Ltd, SBS Transit Ltd). They are referenced here under fair-use principles for an educational fan puzzle. The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these entities. No claim of affiliation is made or intended.

6. Privacy

Your use of MRTdoku is also governed by our privacy policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.

7. No warranty

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” The Operator makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that puzzles will be solvable on the first try, or that any rarity score is statistically meaningful.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site is capped at SGD 0. We exclude all liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or game streaks.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations, in which case the foregoing applies only to the extent permitted by your local law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right through your use of the Site.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Site at any time. The Operator may suspend or terminate access to the Site, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice — including for any breach of these Terms. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, no warranty, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) survive.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes will be surfaced via an in-app banner on the next visit. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

13. Contact

MRTdoku is operated as a personal project at mrtdoku.com from Singapore. There is no registered company; an individual maintainer is responsible for the Site.
